In early March we held a donor reception in anticipation of our return to Willmar, MN.

Right on the heels of our script Development workshop we held a fundraising event to share the progress of our work, and raise cruicial funds for the next stage of the project.

The evening featured selections of Willmar performed by NYC-based actors, the musical stylings of Eleni Arapoglou and Asher Kurtz and delicious food catered by Conor Proft. The event was hosted by a dear friend of NTP, Arlene Goldman, and allowed us the space to discuss the development of The Willmar Project with a wider audience. With the help of many generous donors, as well as enticing raffle prizes donated by local businesses, we hosted an incredibly successful evening.

While the event was intended to help fund a planned production of the project in Willmar, MN in the summer of 2020, little did we know at that event that less than two weeks later we would be in a lock-down from the Covid-19 pandemic. While the timeline for the Community Engagement trip to Willmar had to be postponed, the funds raised from this event proved to be even more critical to our ability to pivot and keep working remotely during the pandemic.
